Women Rock!

Happy International Woman's Day.

When I started writing the Trudy Hicks Ghost Hunter series, I wanted to make the protagonist Trudy someone to admire. I envisioned her to be strong, smart, independent, loving and loyal. I started researching women who I heard about in the news and literature-but then something dawned on me...I needed to look no further than the women in my orbit. My mom, who poured the foundation for our home -almost all by herself. Wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow full of cement carrying a baby on her hip. My sister the pillar of the family, my nieces who have pushed through the boundaries of their generation to become the most respected in their fields. My friend, the visionary, who not only seeks her success- but also lifts and carries every one around her. The fighters who fight not only for justice for themselves -but will knock you out if you hurt someone they love. Also, the angels who are the single moms, the teachers, and the nurses, who carry the weight of the world on their shoulders.
